Faraz is the youngest son of a wealthy, politically connected family. That night, he met his friend at the coffee shop and found himself caught in a firefight. His reaction to the nightmare situation forms the core of the story. Hansal Mehta (Aligarh, LFF 2015) used unexpected humor to counteract the tense atmosphere, often at the expense of incompetent law enforcement officials, bringing his signature sensitivity, nuances, and empathy to this fictional retelling. What is particularly striking is that it views religious extremism from the perspective of Muslims, whose beliefs are questioned and demonized by the actions of radical extremists.
